Book title: The dark side of the moon (original: Die dunkle Seite des Mondes)
Author: Martin Sutter
“Die dunkle Seite des Mondes” is a quite unpredictable psychological novel. Easy to read (in German), Martin Sutter knows how to turn the whole action around. It follows the life changing experience of Urs Blank throughout the whole book.
I have to confess that I was very glad to see how the rich and boring main character Urs decided to change his life in a more interesting direction. At first sight just another midlife crisis where the rich guy meets a beautiful young girl and falls in love … Until the trip with the Psylocibin mushroom … well there I didn’t see it coming. In the tipi the Dark Side Of The Moon was playing …
The effects of that trip were deadly and transformed Urs into a wild animal. He is lost, confused, crazy … a fugitive, a prey on the run destined to a dramatic end. His only choice is to find the cure and the road is full of danger.
Mit einem Mal verstand er die Musik – alle Musik – in ihrem innersten Wesen.
Martin Sutter brings drama but also depth to its characters.
Es gibt keine Vergleichgrössen. Weil es nichts gibt. Es existiert nur eine einzige Wirklichkeit: Urs Blank.
This book is about psychosis, alienation in the middle of the nature where the human is its center and all around only artifacts … In the end Urs manages to repeat the whole experience backwards but it is already too late.
Farne aus Magenta schoben sich vor gelbe Fichten, schwarze Tannenstämme trugen Algenmuster aus Zyan.
And when combined with the first series of Fargo the effect is double.
