This is part of another culinary experience during the ski season. We were this year skiing again in France at Portes du Soleil and this time we found a nice little apartment for four persons via Airbnb. The apartment’s owners recommended us to eat at this restaurant. Apparently that’s one of the best places in Les Gets. But make sure that you reserve in advance – you can alsIMG_1047o make the reservation in English. As it is a small restaurant it’s usually fully booked during the ski season. It’s hard to find a parking space at the restaurant as they only have a few parking places. But there is a big parking space nearby (5 min walk). Inside it looks like a stylish ski chalet. The design is based on wood giving it a warm cosy feeling and great ambiance.

The restaurant is very nice and the personnel pleasant. They also speak English which is very helpful in case you don’t know any French. Also the menus are both in French and EIMG_1048nglish. The service was fast but not rushed. We received the plates at the same time and the food had the right temperature. We ordered snails (escargots) as a starter. They came without the shell directly in butter and garlic. It was very tasty. They were served on a special plate that had like a hole for each snail. The baguette on the side was very good as well.

Then weIMG_1049 had some Savoyard specialities including potatoes with salad and vegetables or smoked salmon. One of us ordered duck which was crispy, well cooked and the sauce was rich and very tasty.

We were happy with the quality of the food and the relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed our dinner at the Copeaux that evening. Unfortunately we started the dinner too late and we decided not to order desserts. I’ve heard that the desserts are heaven. We’ll return here next year to test if that’s really true …
