Movie: Suicide Squad
Director: David Ayer
We watched this movie together with friends on a Sunday afternoon. It was more exciting than I expected. I’m not into Superhero movies and I actually didn’t know all the characters. I had to google some of them to understand their story better and even discussed some of the details with my friends.
I liked the squad characters the most. The action itself not as much. The introduction of each team member together with their life, skills and obsessions was pretty illuminating. I was always finding the superhero world boring, but now with the anti-heros I think it’s pretty exciting. It’s not like I like negative characters more but I found them more real and genuine than all the positive ones.
My favorite is of course Joker with his crazy, obsessive and ironic personality. Pretty sick but very true to his identity. And then his girlfriend and their relationship is playing tricks to my mind: obsessive love and hate, I found it disturbing but I liked it at the same time.
The fire guy was interesting but too reluctant in using his powers. I could understand why, but then his end was too soon as his powers were probably the greatest.
Will Smith did a good job I think. Floyd was the most human; the brain of the squad but also the soul. He could convince the others and lead them but also get the human side of each one. In the end they were all a team and seemed to care for each other.
